Security governance across the African continent is enhanced, the responses to arms control challenges by the African Union, its Regional Economic Communities and Regional Mechanisms are more unified and effective and the risks of illicit arms proliferation and unplanned explosions due to poor storage conditions are significantly reduced, contributing to regional peace and stability.
