Project overview

coreNRW is a multidisciplinary and multi-professional network. Here, researchers, prevention practitioners, and (security) officials analyse the current developments in various extremist movements. Within the network, we discuss research findings, knowledge requirements and show effective prevention options. Due to it’s structure and multi-disciplinary approach, the work of coreNRW is unique in Germany. We conduct research to better understand radicalisation dynamics and processes; build networks to promote targeted knowledge exchange; pool expertise to fill knowledge gaps; use our expertise to broaden perspectives and provide constructive impetus. In this way, coreNRW makes an important contribution to the task of countering extremism and promoting peaceful coexistence in a pluralistic society. We strengthen the exchange of knowledge. As the coordination unit, we at bicc are the network’s internal and external information and service interface. We provide news in our newsletter, organise events, publish scientific publications, stimulate discussion and support network members and interested parties with all kinds of enquiries. The published research work of the network is part of the core content of coreNRW. The publication series includes an annual research report and short expert reports.
