Frederik holds a BSc in Social Sciences from the University of Cologne, where he graduated with distinction. His thesis examined Germany's Russia policy in light of the Ukraine war, with a focus on trade and export policy. As part of his undergraduate studies, he spent a semester at Sciences Po Paris. Frederik is currently pursuing a joint MA in Comparative Politics at the University of Tübingen and the American University in Cairo. Prior to joining bicc, he completed internships at the German Embassy Muscat and the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung's Regional Programme Gulf States in Amman. His areas of expertise include Middle Eastern affairs, authoritarian politics, security policy and arms control.
