Biography

Felix Koltermann graduated in Communication Design and Photography (Diplom- FH) and received a Master in Peace and Security Studies (MPS). From 2010 to 2012, Felix Koltermann was member of the Sprecherrat Plattform Zivile Konfliktbearbeitung; he received a PhD Scholarship in Media Studies from the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung for the University of Erfurt in 2010. Felix Koltermann interned at BICC in the framework of his Master in Peace and Security Studies’ research term and has been Associate Researcher at BICC since 2009. He has also been working as freelance trainer and moderator since 2009. From 2008 to 2009, he did a Master program at the University of Hamburg / Institut für Friedensforschung und Sicherheitspolitik. Before that, from 2001 to 2008, he studied photography studies at the University of Applied Sciences Dortmund.

Research profile

  • Felix Koltermann is an expert in moderation and facilitation, photojournalism and conflict photography, conflict sensitive journalism, training in civil conflict resolution, qualitative methodology and fieldwork.
