Abstract

Over the past decade, Germany has become a principal destination for healthcare professionals from Western Balkan countries, mainly driven by wage differentials and career prospects. Our study explores the increasing migration of health professionals from the region – particularly Albania and Kosovo – to Germany, with a focus on the intersections between gender, migration channels, and the role of institutions.
